The famous JATO Rocket Car story was one of the original Darwin Awards winners. I remember reading it out loud to my buddies and us all rolling withlaughter when it was published in News of the Weird. pre-Internet.

I think both points are very incorrect. Apple has a massive moat. And Apple is making hardware (specifically, CPUs) that are two years ahead.

So move your fence 50 feet away from the property line. Obviously, this means you need to find a big property if it's adjacent to state land with large trees.

You don't need a mirror image organism to cause great harm. An engineered prion could also be devastating.

I don't think preons are technically mirror molecules, but it's close enough from a risk perspective. If rogue AI were to do us in through bioengineering, it might be by creating a novel prion.

It was widely noted (at least 15 years ago, maybe more) that every generation of CPU is somewhat dependent upon the computational capabilities of the previous generation being used in its design.

I think LLM coding has changed the criteria from which language is best to which language has the best organizational/institutional support for the long-term.

That'll change soon after bad things happen and the court's get involved and legal precedence are established. We're in the early days - from a legal responsibility perspective.
