You can use ALPR to track people who are known to have entered illegally or who have been sentenced to deportation and are avoiding their sentence. Illegal aliens are criminals.

Most Hacker News readers are liberal (judging by the comments). And it seems like most Hacker News readers are disgusted by this news.

What every liberal person who read this article with disgust needs to realize is that THIS IS THE LIBERAL END-GAME AND THIS IS WHAT A MAJORITY OF LEFT-LEANING DECISION-MAKERS SUPPORT.

They don't care about merit, or fairness, or making the most out of a scarce resource. All that they care about is enforced "equality," no matter how many people suffer as a consequence.

If you look at the Quillet article someone linked to above, most of the high-performing Asians who ace the SHSAT are low-income, so your generalization makes no sense whatsoever in the context of de Blasio's plan.

I was under the impression that the test-makers have scrupulously avoided culturally-biased questions for decades, and yet left-leaning people casually continue tossing it around as part of their war on merit.
