I used Wise for five years as a freelance developer. Last year, they suddenly blocked my account. At that time, my only client was a company listed in the S&P 500, who sent my salary through Wise. When Wise asked for proof of my contract, I sent them the documents. However, they still blocked my account without telling me why. They gave me my money back after seven days, but my account remained blocked without explanations.

Laravel is also similar and catching up and php version 7 isn't that bad.
I prefer rails because:
1) I love the community and the gems (I always find everything I need)
2) I feel that the decisions of the core team are the right ones and they are still innovating in the small details
3) Finally and most important, because of ruby. Ruby in my eyes is much more expressive.
When I do something in rails I feel like that's the right way to do it (I am a rails developer for about 8 years now). Maybe my brain has been wired too much with rails but everytime I tried to do something in laravel, django, or even phoenix, it just couldn't cut it.
I think it is a matter of preference than anything else.

I am working from Greece, working remotely, my daily rate is approximately 200euro per day (before taxes), 4 days per week (it depends a bit as I am getting paid in dollars), working 9 hours per day (one hour is "paid" break).
5 years of experience as a rails developer, 8 years of experience as a web developer (full stack as I have helped on the server and our app is on angular).
To be honest, I enjoy the team and the company I am working on, even if I believe I could find a better salary. Btw my salary is about 4 times more than the average salary in Greece.

I've created my own https://github.com/johndel/freeze but this one isn't the last version (too lazy to push it as far as I am the only one using it. I have a private repo also). I feel more comfortable to host my own solution and add custom feature that I want.

I am using rss a lot, I've tried almost all of the popular solutions but I didn't find some specific features I need, Like knowing which rss feeds I usually skip, which I read the title and pass and which I actually click and read.
I created a fetcher/bookmarker for storing the information I am interested in https://github.com/johndel/freeze
Right now you can just connect rss but I'd like to add facebook, twitter, stackoverflow, github and youtube updates and of course a powerful search.
