Yeah, but as with most things that are hard to measure, contributions were a proxy that HR and corporates could wrap their heads around ( even though now we can easily see how much it can be gamed ). For a person like me, it kinda sucks. I am a believer, but looking at my github corporate would not deem worthy of their time.

Naturally, this means personal connection will be even more important now.

Not any kind of original work.

But

The llm thing started to change me in a sense that I no longer really feel obligated to use everybody else's solutions. It may be harder and harder to get onto the 'old web', but my new small project put a website from cellphone and is available for as long as I need it to be available.

The short answer to what we can do is 'adjust accordingly'.

Uhh, I have an extended family member, who not only uses it, but now also tries to get other people to get into it. Since I was familiar with this practice ( and the issues it makes worse ), I noted those to him in an attempt to both politely decline and, hopefully, spare him, and society, some future problems. Without going into any identifying details, he didn't take it well ( and I don't think I got on my high horse ).

Anyway, I think some level of blame is warranted.

As if making something impossibly difficult to comply with is not defact ban. Case in point: OFAC sanctions waivers. Show me a bank in US that directly deals with those and you will quickly end up with rather interesting representation that mimics current AI situation.

This explains a lot and I am glad you answered this way, because it suggests that you may be open to the possibility that while, to you, memes serve no function, there are people out there, who can use it in a way that make the difference on whether it has an function inherently or not, largely irrelevant. Just like life.

You know what? That is fine based merely on recent openai/hugginface incident ( after all, they needed open weights model to actually troubleshoot it, because 'safe' one did not let em ).

To an extent, but their main points match my own perspective:

-AI use at work is broad but shallow: -At work, most AI use is focused on collaboration and assistance with tasks, and so far task automation is uncommon:

Both of the above happen for a reason and if you work at any bigger corp ( esp publicly owned ), it is easy to understand why.

Super annoying read, because there is a lot of fluff to get through. I eventually got annoyed and threw AI at it. Now...based on that summary, it feels very aspirational. Note, not aspirational in the corporate sense, but clearly US is positioning itself in a way that would maintain its current position.

The really annoying thing is, now I really dislike that particular website style.

Mmm.. AI395 at 3.5k ( and out of stock mind ). And I still want to give it a shot when it is out. I suppose I just explained to myself the ridiculous jump in prices. The demand is crazy.

Agreed. In my particular case, it did not help that were not exactly rich, so I got to, however briefly, become a zealot in amiga vs pc war. Still, one of a kind experience.

Yes-ish. I normally run gpt with some form of adjustment prompt to ensure it is not too agreeable, but even with those, when I tried 5.6 I found a noticeable jump in -- not sure to label them -- those types of phrases. They disappeared after some fiddling with the initial prompt.
