DGG lets you disable ads in the settings: https://duckduckgo.com/settings#general

But the main difference is that DGG chooses ads based only on search term, as opposed to tracking you and collecting your data across the entire net.

I've found it's great for Discord, and pretty good for Slack (although I've been using Slack in my browser now that it's become critical during WFH).

Unfortunately it's proprietary, but there's another native client called gtkcord3 [0] that seems to be progressing well.

The other project, GitGardener[1] is... not necessarily sketchy, but it's obviously designed to make your Github look "better" than it really is (not that the contribution chart matters for anything, but that seems like what the service is trying to convey).

It seems like the opposite to me, each feature has a big heading that you can quickly read to get an overview of all the features, with smaller, more detailed descriptions below.

I’ve experienced the same thing - I always right the microphones attached to earbuds were worthless, but compared to a laptop microphone, which picks up every last bit of background noise, my cheap ($15) earbuds’ microphone does a good job at only picking up my voice, with clear enough quality.

If you’re using Linux and Pulseaudio, look into echo cancellation, it’s easy to enable and can help improve your voice quality a little bit.
