I remember when you could stand up a website and no bots would scrape it or scan it. It was a lovely time. No one had firewalls or antivirus and things were working fine until the worms and viruses started coming. You could be confident that your guests were real, so much so we had guest counters on many public sites.

> People only turn yellow if they have kidney or liver damage.
This is not true. Roughly 5% of people have Gilbert's Syndrome which is genetic, metabolic abnormality where the bilirubin from dead blood cells are conjugated slower than the baseline patient leading to yellowing of the skin. It is not due to liver damage or disease and is a benign condition. Not to mention there is carotenemia from eating too many carrots or squash -- again not kidney/liver damage related.

Senior devs spend most of their time planning and reviewing now and Junior devs can implement. Both with the help of GenAI.

It's a moot point. In Mag7 companies internal code gets thrown away within 2 years on average because of contract negotiations, new opensource projects that obviate need for the internal codebase, license changes, layoffs, etc, etc. We don't need long term maintainability because its already on its way to the garbage bin. Frankly it's always been this way.

Nope, it’s just simple arbitrage. All of the subscription tiers offer 5-10x better prices than metered api fees. They use subscription to hook people and get them desperate enough to pay for ad-hoc generation outside of their subscription to make a profit. The economics of Claude do not work unless a significant % of subscribers convert to standard metered API use. They are trying any trick under the sun to make this happen.

Way healthier, it’s not even a comparison. Cigarettes have particulates that are not bioavailable and create the black lung tissue. Here in California we have banned any flavors from nicotine vapes so it’s very straight forward. The best vapes anymore are THC, due to psychoactive effects and flavors, similar level of safety to nicotine.
