I need to try it again. When I tried it I found it was kind of overblown and went back to copilot. I also wasn't sure whether to maintain two IDEs - Cursor for scaffolding new projects, and VScode for daily driving.

I had the pleasure of trying this out before it was released. I think it's one of those things I can imagine might have a high bounce rate, but I would really like to encourage anyone checking it out to really give it at least 10-15 minutes. There are so many details and easter eggs and the frustration that's baked into the game design compounds quite nicely given some time.
EDIT: it's also more rewarding if you delay looking under the hood for a while.

---
By analyzing a memory snapshot from the flycast emulator, I found that the buffer at 8cfffb34 holds the visible portion of the initials you type in. But if you keep typing, the characters you put in before get pushed into the buffer at 8c3abf18.
After loading the memory snapshot into Ghidra, I found that the function at 8c0334d8 reads this buffer. It performs a transformation on the buffer and then checks whether the transformed value is a list of six special ones.
---
How?

How is ~8% (eyeballing) of the popular vote a narrow majority in politics? It's a pretty substantial majority. Apathetic non-voters don't really count because they don't care.

I'm not sure how this works in practice. This means that timing of the offers needs to align pretty closely. How long will a company let you sit on an offer before they move on? I've only ever interviewed or worked at companies that are at most a few hundred people. When I get an offer, I'm pressured for an answer within days. Once or twice I've been able to stretch that to like 2-3 weeks.
