I tried to play Elite Dangerous in VR. It is a very nice game to do that with but personally I found the heavy HMD got uncomfortable inside of a half hour, and I had difficulty reading text. It's fine for combat missions but if I want to design a trade route I'd rather just use my normal monitor.
The other problem is that I have a fancy throttle and stick with lots of extra buttons and switches. I know common functions by touch but if I wanna toggle exterior lights or something I have to look down and find a label.
For me choosing a screen + head tracking vs VR is like choosing to use speakers instead of headphones. The headphones sound way nicer and give much more immersive soundscapes but sometimes you want to have some tunes going and not have your ears get sweaty.

My VW wrongly reads a speed limit off of frontage roads instead of my actual road every single day. When the car was new I tried the speed limit beeper just to see and it isn't worth it.
The speed limit display is great for simple highways and I appreciate the warning when I reach a speed zone, but not ready for anywhere complicated.

My first bitwarden invoice is dated november 2019. My concern here is 'squeeze' type activities that other companies with strong M&A leaderships have brought to their customers. For consumers, loyalty is exploited, not rewarded, and one must be vigilant for signals to jump ship.

To tack onto this a big annoyance for me right now is the lack of knowledge in the community about frame pacing and how to configure the computer.
The user will say 'it lags' but does not mention if they have tearing enabled in wayland, what are their 1% lows, have they set an fps cap, what vsync settings have they chosen in-game. On top of that there is an ecosystem failure as not every game supports arbitrary caps and you have to configure some mangohud thing.
Linux is only a 'just click play' experience if you have no standards because I have never had this stuff be correct out of the box on a fresh install.

When my bank account got drained, I could not pay rent or any bills. I had enough cash for about a week of food. It took 4 weeks for the bank to decide I could be made whole. Ever since then I have never even put a debit card in my wallet. I know what the laws say. I have read endless "well banks usually[...]" type messages. and yet all the same I one day awoke to find myself transformed into a giant cockroach.
