I haven’t had the time since I heard about it to really try and build something similar in a language I enjoyed so I turned to Claude and built as many erlang/beam features into a golang superset I guess you could say. I wanted something that was practically go but had erlang paradigms and this was where my experiment landed.

I’m still yet to find a practical use case for it, but it’s a fun experiment that I enjoyed putting together.

For a long time I wanted to build a universal visual scripting program that was like unreal's blueprints but for the languages that I enjoy. I've given a fair few attempts but AI has allowed me to build something I really enjoy using and with tools that I have found make working with complex code bases a bit more visual which is something that helps me a lot.

I also have sons who love coding in various languages so I wanted to build something that helped people who are learning to code transition from stuff like scratch.

I'm looking for a type 1 hypervisor that's installable on a laptop that one can use to run a main guest OS as the one connected to the display, keyboard etc and the other guests are manageable via an app within that guest or through some sort of kvmish shortcuts.

I am aware of QubesOS but I think it might have more features than what I'm looking for.

If you're asking me how to remember the difference between them, I just imagine I'm the line, then the question is: does it look like I'm falling forward or backward.

So I see that you have two options both of which shouldn’t happen before first taking a small break: 1. Continue to work in the industry and reduce your emotional investment. Hint: great places for that are big corporates. 2. Continue to work while upskilling in another field or your current field depending on what you prefer.

Depression often comes with the temptation to catastrophise the situation, avoid that urge. Seek out others who can be objective and talk you through it, be prepared to hear their answers.

I started out front-end, did a lot of my own side projects to get backend stuff. PHP is pretty good despite the hate because not many people want to do it these days but a legit and easy way to get some backend experience.
