I made a promise to myself a year back that my next side project would be for-profit. For this project, I've written a hyper niche web app builder for Instagram influencers to sell digital cookbook subscriptions. Most food bloggers put together static eBook PDFs and sell them for a one time cost. ohfork.app is different in that the cookbooks can be added to over time, and charged via monthly subscriptions.
I've got 10 years of back end experience so the development was a learning experience. The frontend is SvelteKit, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. Database, auth, cloud functions, storage, and hosting is Firebase. It's all pretty janky right now since I wanted to get the MVP done as quickly as possible. If I have any luck, this project will be worth investing more development time into.
The landing page has both a demo gif, and a link to "Demo cookbook" to check out. Let me know your thoughts and/or questions!

Yes. Postgres stores the checkpoint on the source database replication slot. You can configure Debezium Engine to send checkpoints to the file /dev/null to disable the default external system checkpoint behavior.

The latest code on the master branch of displayplacer supports this. Run `displayplacer "id:34686E82-0CED-DF86-AFC7-AA1A8EB5CFC0 enabled:false"` with your screen ID and it will set the screen to all black plus remove the screen from the view of the OS. I'll cut the next release version after I add native Apple silicon support.

As far as I understand, there is a low level race condition here. The order that the monitors come alive and initialize with the OS is non deterministic. This can cause the left monitor and the right monitor, for example, to swap IDs.

I dealt with a case of chronic patellar tendonitis for years between ages 23 and 26. Debilitating to the point where I could not go anywhere that would require me to stand in line. The book Healing Back Pain by John Sarno, which is basically the talking therapy you mentioned, was hugely transformative for me. I was able to stop fixating on the pain and focus on strength training knowing that flare up were no big deal. I'm recovered now and regularly skateboarding and standing in line again.
Edit: I should mention I spent upwards of an hour each day for those years doing physical therapy rehab. I turned down recommendations of surgery during that time as well.

Seitan, tempeh, lentils, and beans w/ rice are the highest protein to calorie ratio foods I eat. Sprouted seed bread, most nuts/seeds, and most vegetables are pretty high in protein as well. I supplement with pea protein isolate to reach very high protein intake levels for bodybuilding purposes.

Extremely low interest rates have cut high-yield savings account interest rates from over 2% to ~1%. Most folks would be better off with a high-yield checking account, which pay between 3% and 5%. However, high-yield checking accounts typically come with a catch; you must make `n` debit card transactions per month. Depending on the bank, `n` can be between 10 and 60.
I created Debbit to automate meeting these spending requirements. Debbit will programmatically buy 50 cent Amazon gift cards and/or pay your cable bill in small increments throughout the month. It's built to be a set it and forget it solution. Run it once and it will execute in the background using headless Firefox month to month. Behind the scenes Debbit is a hand rolled scheduler + Selenium automation.

I wrote an automated solution to spending requirements for high interest checking accounts. High interest checking accounts (up to 5% APR) often require a dozen or more transactions a month to qualify for high rates. Debbit automates this by purchasing 50 cent Amazon gift cards and/or paying your cable bill in small increments throughout the month.
Behind the scenes, Debbit is a hand rolled scheduler that runs Selenium automation to navigate Amazon + bill pay websites.
https://github.com/jakehilborn/debbit
