The site is utter shit. Total amateur hour. Terrible contrast, barely anything guiding the eyes, the padding to the sides is inconsistent. So is the entire design language from leading with some numbering that never goes beyond 01, round buttons, round input elements, interrupted by somewhat decorated layered elements which then leads to some kind of terminal window that doesn't resemble any terminal UI I've ever seen or used. It's all filled by various sloppy mentions of keywords that barely form some coherent narrative.

This page looks like some junior cobbled it together based on a hastily written ticket by some overworked product guy.

Yuck.

Why would you rely on reporting pf behavior from a decade ago though? He was what... 25-26 then? He's closing in on his 40s (sorry if you read this geohot) and hasn't seemed very arrogant on his live streams for tinygrad. Strong opinions, confidence, sure, but he keeps a flexible mind.

Huawei has been shipping decent MBA-like laptops for some years now. The latest Panther Lake laptops seem to have made some leaps towards Apple on the hardware side as well. I still won't expect any Windows laptop in these form factors to outlive most MacBooks though.

Eh? Where exactly is that a reality though? I just spent like 20$ last week on various Chinese frontier models using openrouter and ppq building like 10 different projects that would've cost way more than double or quadruple per token at the big 3 if I didn't have those alternative options. Hell, for small tasks I even fell back to a local 27b Qwen model.

I think this has long been the norm without AI. Just look at a lot of politians cheating with their university tests, outsourcing the work that lands them their titles to low earning ghost writers. Why do you think so many incompetent people rise to powerful managerial positions to make terrible decisions without consequences. It's probably going on for much longer than we all think because it's not always easy to find hard evidence and we're all trained to treat circumstantial evidence. How many scandals were there of influential people buying their kids into elite colleges? AI is just accelerating what's been ongoing already.
