Wikipedia says it's been Iranian/Omani territorial waters for quite a while:

what does this mean, exactly? it sounds like you're trying to say that things would have been different, if only those pesky voters hadn't voted for Trump. but they _did_ vote for someone other than Trump in 2020, and that did very little to affect the issues mentioned in the article

ofc a lot of the "innovation" in our tech industry is pointless at best and actively harmful at worst (adtech surveillance, crypto bullshit, prediction markets, outright gambling, etc. etc. etc.), so maybe the euros have the right idea? then again, their model doesn't make the Line go Up as much

reminds me of the experience of reading a math text without doing the exercises, thinking that you've understood the material, and then falling flat on your face when you attempt to apply your "understanding" to a novel problem. there's a significant difference between passively reading something and really putting active effort into it. only the latter leads to actual understanding ime
