Hledger has a more sane query language, but its not as powerful as ledger's. Also probably less bugs than ledger. Ledger, however, lets you do pretty much anything you want and thats why i prefer it. of course its easier to make mistakes with it, but i prefer the freedom it offers.

i3 kinda does this. It manages workspaces/windows/tabs. I use qutebrowser and it has the option of 'tabs as windows' so that i3 can handle my browser tabs. My user experience is pretty consistant across my entire system.
Firefox doesn't allow each tab to be a window, which breaks the consistancy but i only sometimes have to use that.
But as has been mentioned, plan9 does this at a design level.

I've been using Acme exclusivly for almost 6 years now. I consider it
to be the only true GUI text editor that has been developed, and the
only non-trivial development in editor-technology since vim and emacs.
Like emacs it is more then just an editor, it is a full programming
environment. If it was extended to support more then just text it could
be a full desktop environment.
I see posts complaining about having to write your own
integrations....well thats exactly the point of Acme. Its a programmers
editor. Your write tools to make your programs, to create better tools
to create better programs, to ....
Acme creates an environment, like the unix shell, for all those programs
to be integrated. Acme is the modern shell!
It's sad that nothing better has been created since (~30 years)

Yes, punish the civillians of russia for the decisions of the global oilgarchs.
I love the foaming-at-the-mouth war effort here.
Lest we forget the true words of Hermann Goering,

"voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."
