Sure. Maybe feeling embarrassed is a sign that our pride sometimes carries more weight than it should. It’s easy to forget that many people—especially those who are disadvantaged or disabled—might not even have the opportunity to feel embarrassed in the same way. Perhaps it’s a gentle reminder to let go a little of our need to protect our self-image.

Great article. I’ve come to see that feeling embarrassed can actually be a kind of luxury. When I’m around people with disabilities—many of whom might simply hope to reach a point where embarrassment is even possible—it reminds me how much we take that experience for granted. In that light, embarrassment itself can feel like a privilege. It calls to mind 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Doesn't the risk of being overweight completely overwhelm the risk of a not-yet-understood gut flora change? We know that even being minimally overweight poses a risk; a Nurses’ Health Study reported that women with BMIs in the range of 24-24.9 had a 5-fold greater risk of diabetes when compared with women with BMIs of less than 22.

Not on a standard transatlantic flight. You are likely seeing the optical effect of the window on the horizon. Observing curvature of the earth at even 60,000 feet requires a very wide-angle view (the cabin), with a clear view of the sky. The earth is huge. https://simpleflying.com/concorde-earth-curvature/

As a side hustler, even with pass-through taxation, you will still have to pay the self-employment tax (15.3% of net earnings) on top of taxes at your federal and state tax bracket. However, side-hustle money spent on qualified business expenses, is not taxable. (Tax people please chime in.)

On commercial pecan farms, the nuts need graded based on color, size, and variety. Currently, pecans are tumbled in rotating chutes composed of grates of increasing spacing, so that pecans are sorted based on size. Color and variety are not filtered, ultimately resulting in a lower sales price for the farmer. Your device could take this type of sorting to the next level.
