And on the flip side, while Turner was politically progressive, with his personal behavior, he was a hard drinking, loud talking guy who would likely have been villanized by the woke CNN of the early 2020's.

The book has an unfortunate title. It sounds transactional and manipulative. It could just as well have been named something like "How to communicate well with people."

Back in the early 1980's, a high school friend from a semi-wealthy family received a money from his parents to buy his first car to drive to school. They were expecting him to buy a new Honda or Toyota, but he proudly showed up at home with an old used 2002. They were not happy, but we had a great time with that car. :-)

Great job. Thanks. Why the intermittant timed stop? Is it just to break it up since its a short clip?
Like others have said, there are several projects recreating the old weather channel vibe, each with its own spin. And if you don't need current weather info, there are some good yt vids that play old clips with the music in the background.

I went to law school and a few of us students were engineers. For our first set of essay exams, the professors all instructed us to "just answer the legal question" and not include extra analysis. After the exam, many of the engineers didn't do well because the professors *actually* wanted you to weave the whole sylabus into your answer (i.e., discuss hypotheticals that were not actually part of the question asked), not just answer the question. After that, we were fine.

So I guess the question is, when Sam says "and we put them into our agreement," what exactly was in the agreement? I distrust Sam. But if you were to trust his statements, it seems like he's saying he implemented in his agreement with the gevernment the safety features Anthropic wanted.

I'm confused.
Sam writes "Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement."
How is this different from what Anthropic wanted?
