A big problem with research into nicotine is that it has been conflated with tobacco smoke. You should really substitute "nicotine" with "tobacco smoke" in these sentences.

I feel like I have been living in a cave. I have never heard of Penny Arcade but people are referring to them as legendary. Visiting their site feels like going back to 2006. What am I missing?

It makes my skin crawl when I see it. I really hope this "because noun" thing doesn't become anything more than the irritating form of humour that it started out as. It is almost as irritating as "on accident".

I think it just activates an alarm when it comes into contact with water. It's not a floatation device as far as I can see.

Does the alligator actually die in this video? I was expecting a very short shock that would scare the alligator, not the prolonged discharge shown.
