For me, Slack is good because it adds fun to the workplace, especially in one too big to chat to all these far flung people
You get to know people you work with before you even met them in person
And you swap gifs and jokes. It just helps built a positive culture I think

Yeah this is not the same at all.
That one phone exchange operator couldn't make hundreds of billions of dollars by selling access to the information for advertising for example.
When I think about the privacy I value, it's more like I don't want to be manipulated and have a soulless corporation benefiting from my private life.
Small town gossip and eavesdropping is human and harmless, but I'd be pissed off at phone lady too.
Maybe the townsfolk weren't because they knew her and she was harmless or not creepy or something.

I hope privacy becomes a core thing people care about, as much as having a right to free speech.
It already is a bit but it isn't quite mainstream enough.
It's more like a nerds concern, but it should be everyone's.
Maybe because free speech is guaranteed by the Constitution but not privacy.

I've gotten nothing out of my Smart TV that I couldn't have gotten from a Chromecast, or preferably, a laptop hooked up to a TV.
And I've lost a lot. My TV is slow. When I try to control the volume, sometimes I have to wait multiple seconds.
And things stop working all the time and require a reboot.
I hate the damn thing. It even comes with bloatware for some reason, games I'll never play that it insists on updating forever.
And with the privacy concerns on top of all that, I wish I had a dumb TV.
My shit cube TV from the 90s was better!

I think UX issues, without data backing them up, are just opinions for the most part. I don't feel very comfortable putting them in a bug tracker.
I wonder if they have UX trained people doing research and so on.

Looks amazing!!
I wonder how well it will cope with non-basic games, as in non-platformers, non-shooters.
I've noticed that many frameworks are great for basic tutorial project usage but don't do well once you start on a real project

Apps do a huge amount of tracking too, and they have their own dark patterns, like making things really addicting
What's more is apps exist in their walled gardens far more than websites, even if the web has been getting worse in that regard
