it-bubble investor here. I think you're missing the point. Take a look at a 30 year graph of something from that era let's say Ericsson B. Phone networks are still around and very useful that's totally besides the point as far as valuations goes.
https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=NASDAQ%3AERIC

I mean agentic coding is a thing but anyone could learn that in a day or week. So the idea of throwing away people that could be the most productive with ai of course make no sense. But it's big corporations, not everything has to make sense. It's most likely a dressed up pure cost saving framed in 2026-lingo.

It's a great tool, and at 1/10 or 1/100th the cost of actual developers. In the context of yc I guess watch out getting re-disrupted by a smaller team faster than before. But that's really the trend the past 40 years so nothing is new. Well maybe the velocity combined with us loosing it's footing at the same time.
But yea it's not gonna make facebook 20% better tomorrow just that you need 5 people instead of 40 to build the next facebook.

Yea it was better in the years of extremely low rates. 2020-2022 it was 0.375% of total. Now it's up to 0.888% last year. There's some cases where it might be benefitial to use the "normal" account but for average Joe, not having to track every transaction has generally been very benefitial. And as a result 80-90% of adults own some type of stock either directly or through funds/retirement accounts vs the free market utopia us of 62%.

No just saying us history is a 200 year thing europe history is counted in millienias, that's not really debatable. In this post it was noridc mythology but it's was all pretty mixed up together and influenced by each other since they where trading and fighting with each other. But that wasn't really the point.

That always helps. Another thing that helps is the free child care/school/university/health care/elderly care/parenting support/living support that the high taxes provides. The lowest standard is very high, the middle is comfy life but keep less dollars than if you lived in the states, the rich not-surprising gets away here too.

It's pretty universal in the developed world to have some type of long term savings tax-scheme.
In us it's 401k/roth. In canada it's tfsa. in uk it's isa.
isa/401k/roth has pretty low caps. tfsa and isk has no cap.
But yea, considering I pay close to 50% tax it's remarkable at the same time I can speculate in the market, make 500% and pay 1% tax on it. Or that people with actual money pay so little.

It sounds good on paper (pun intended) but policy strikes again, "Can my kid bring home her math book so we can work on the parts she's struggling with?" No of course not it lives in a cupboard at school 90% of the time might get some screen shares from it.

A lot I guess or noone would use it. Personally two out of my last 4 jobs (contractor so switch often). All social media is bad by nature so just ignore that part. I much prefer having all recruiters in a single place rather than spread out in my email and even worse directly calling. I tend to reply to all requests there short but polite.

Betting on sport is kind of what sports where made for.
It's something without any consequence or meaning.
The Author mixing that with the dictator and his cronies making buck from their position is offensive.
