Another good resource is The Memory Book[0]. It covers a few different systems that cover different scenarios, such as lists, like in the article, names and numbers. It uses techniques like the article, but also expands on them in interesting ways. If you put the practice time in, it does work!
[0] https://www.amazon.com/Memory-Book-Classic-Improving-School/...

Ember.js seems to check off a lot of those boxes, if you are willing to use a complete solution and not do the 'pick and choose' method of react and friends. While it has lost popularity in the last few years, it has been moving forward technically. It has become leaner and meaner.
Really learning the "Ember Way" to do things can reduce some of the friction the author mentions.
Ember Data can allow you to talk to multiple api backends (differing schemas) while presenting the same model to your UI. If you use the default JsonApi[0] based backend, you get a lot of things for free: powerful filtering, side loading data (relationships), consistent error handling. Sometimes it can be chatty, but that's a spot where HTTP2 can help.
Use ember-concurrency add-on and you have a nice way to manage your requests, things like de-bouncing, handling loading spinners, etc.
[0]https://jsonapi.org/format/

This was during the first Trump is crazy, must remove him using the 25th phase. It wasn't just commentary, as this seemed to necessitate multiple days of coverage. I would say it falls closer to the malicious category because they have their agenda, like Fox news does too.

Do you watch CNN? For about 2 years they had cnn playing on a tv near the break room, so as I refilled my water bottle, I got to see what cnn thought was the most important (Trump) news.
They spent a week on how much diet soda he drank. They had experts on saying why it could cause mental problems and that they should use the 25th on him.
They spent several days when he had 2 scoops of ice cream at a White House dinner, while his guests only got one scoop. I wish I was joking about this, but I am not. I sometimes wonder what Wolf Blitzer thinks as he’s commenting on some of these stories. Such a name, wasted.
Those are the two most comical, but the scary thing is all news is biased. Two sides of the same coin. If you don’t think so, I suggest you search out other sources. Why wouldn’t they be biased? News today is about making money, and cnn and others cashed in on the hate for trump.

Pretty open-ended question! I bought an Osprey Flapjack Pack [0] in a rare impulse buy while I was at an event that happened to be selling them. I didn't know anything about them, except it seemed pretty sturdy, comfortable and I was in the market for a new backpack. That was in 2015, and it still looks new. I like that it has an orange lining inside, which makes it really easy to find things.
[0] https://www.osprey.com/us/en/product/flapjack-pack-FLPJKPACK...

Our 2013 Honda Accord needed several updates just for the radio to work reliably. You would go to change a channel, the screen would blank out and come back on with all presets set to 97.3. Of course, if you "rebooted" the car, they came back correctly.
And the lag when hitting a tough screen button, incredibly frustrating. I want my buttons!

Agree. The few SPA sites I use annoy the heck out of me. garmin connect is one that I use, and when I view an activity and want to go back, I need to wait .5 or 1 second as the page loads. Sure, I have a nice empty list to look at as it loads, which just annoys me more. I don't know if this is a fault of SPAs, or just poor app design because there seems to be no caching. The delay is just log enough to annoy me.

Good points. If you notice a bunch of little pee clumps, or you cat is trying to use the box way more than normal, probably want to have a vet take a look. Also, if they suddenly stop using the box and start peeing/pooping somewhere else on a consistent basis, have the vet check that out too. Our cats had bladder infections. They start to associate the litter box with pain, so go somewhere else. They may also be trying to send you a message.

I stare at leaves because sometimes, they really do change after 30 seconds. If you have a wind blowing, it can be "snowing" leaves, which does bring me some level of enjoyment to watch. It's a good way to clear my mind and think about things without really trying to think about things.
Multiply that "goddamn tree" by say, a forest, and then stare at it, looking at the different patterns created by the mixing of trees. Then come back the next day and see how things have changed. Or, just open up you editor and stare at your code. Same diff.

I made two apps, and sadly, not many people have heard of them, since I was working for a small company at the time and we really didn't have the clout to deal with carriers or a sales force to sell. Both apps were agricultural related.
The first app was a general purpose data collection app. It was purely data driven. I could define a template on our server which defined what fields you wanted information for, the type of field (text, number, list selection, etc) and if it was geo enabled. This would be sent out to the phone, and a user could enter the information, send it up to our server and view it on a map. Doesn't sound to exciting, but you could pretty much create a template for anything, This was before google maps, so we also had to manage the shapefiles and handle displaying and rendering them on our website.
The other app was a payroll app for harvesting crews. We could set up the crew members on the server, they would get downloaded to the phone where we used a bluetooth card reader to scan them in/out. Also added some bluetooth printing.
Overall, you could be productive using J2ME. It was just all the stuff that went with getting it out to users.

Oh yeah, it was fun building our own UI that we had complete control over, so that part wasn't so bad. It was just at times, it seemed like they (carriers) didn't want you using the phone for something other than voice. What!? you want to actually send your own data, over our network? And tag it with GPS?
