Hey. I do i have junior developer in my team who is not expanding his skills... at least he seems to struggle with the same and basic channeges in JavaScript all the time. He is not finishing tasks in reasonable timeframe. He seems to be bored with basic and easier tasks, he wants to work on bigger chalenges. However, i cannot let him work on task for 3 days which could be finished by senior developer in 1 day max. Still i want to keep his happy.
I am sending him a lot of related articles which should help him, answering every question he has but he is not making any progress.... What would you do?
Thanks for your tips in advance.
George

Hey guys, i am wondering, how do you measure productivity of developers in your team? I have been using RescueTime app but is too general, not focused on developers. Also, i tried WakaTime plugin into code editor, but it is saying a much... just general stats.
Any tips which data collect? Or how to measure collected data? Eg. number of commits a day, number of pull requests? Lines added vs lines removed? Etc?
Thanks in advance
George

I want to build a simple hybrid mobile application and I was thinking that React Native can be the best solution for me... Because I know reactjs well, and js/html/css is my daily bread. However, in recent days I have noticed there are plenty "buzz" about dying React Native. I have not dig into... but I wouldn't want to use something which is "out dated". I would like to know what would be your dev stack to build simple mobile application quickly these days? What technologies you would use? I do have knowledge of swift but I don't want to use it anymore...
Any feedback/ideas would be appreciated.
George

I was thinking about working on new project. In a nutshell, it would be something like "uber for translators". I have done some research, feedback was mostly positive. (more about the project in my post from /r/beermoney https://www.reddit.com/r/beermoney/comments/8dq1eg/would_you_join_uber_for_translators_to_make_extra/) Unfortunately, there seems to be already existing projects which do the similar stuff. I still think there could be a potential with the right execution and focus. I was also thinking I could at least bring this project idea into Czech Republic (my home country) and make it with local focus only (global project would be preferable for me tho). I would like to get some ideas/advices on this... how should I decide If I should go ahead with the project and spend more time on that? Any other ideas how to validate the idea beforehand? What are your expirience? Any feedback welcomed. Thanks in advance. George

Hey friends, my name is Jiri Sifalda and I am a web application architect with a passion for coffee. Last year, a few friends and I decided to embark on a journey to source the finest caffeine free coffee in world. On our way we discovered new methods for producing coffee and now, at last, we have an amazing product which we can't wait to share with you. We spent last year perfecting our coffee - from the initial harvesting of the coffee beans to designing our branding and packaging. I am happy to introduce to you the coffee we have launched - Five Cups Coffee. It is designed for people who share our love of coffee and who can't help but consume more than 5 five cups of coffee a day. We are sure that our product will please any discerning coffee connoisseur .
We want everyone to be able to enjoy their coffee without worrying about the risk of having too much caffeine.
Look forward to hearing your feedback!
xoxo
