Are you avoiding buying a car for you think that car ownership will be soonish irrelevant?

I'm asking whether the already working Carsharing services (e.g. Zipcar, DriveNow, or car2go) plus the upcoming fleets of driverless cars is already stopping some of you in purchasing a new car ?

In my particular case, I live in Munich (where BMW DriveNow began), and besides just loving moving around with my bicycle, whenever I need a car I just look up my phone and find one for rental nearby. Therefore, I'm not seeing myself buying a car soon at all... The only reason why I would buy one is whether I could rent it myself to others (perhaps in a driverless scenario).

What are your thoughts on car ownership in the year 2018 ?

Me personally, I've had less issues with iOS 11 than with previous iterations and I'm happy overall with wit iOS 11.

Is the data (say, normalized number of issued bugs) really showing a decrease in reliability of iOS over time or rather the contrary?

Not an Apple evangelist here, but it would be good to be fair.

Let's please remember that often a few loud voices are just that, loud, but few.

Yes, I did like you before. But once I got used to Alpine, apk (its package manager), and ash (its shell), I feel myself at home. Furthermore, in most occasions I find newer updated software on Alpine vs. Debian.

Also besides disk space, I really have no idea how docker manages memory, but my assumption (naive?) is that smaller images will consume less RAM memory. I didn’t benchmark this though.

Besides experimenting with polyphasic sleep and such, I could never think that sleep deprivation could become a therapy.

Regardless of the validity of these claims, I welcome this new idea into my brain.

Interesting, I didn't know about Debian slim.

For comparison, I just found this blog post [1], claiming the following:

Nowadays there a meditators, sports people, musicians... all in Twitch.

Twitch is gathering a large passionate community that is worth to reckon with. If I did streaming, I guess I would A/B test whether YouTuBe or Twitch gave me better results in terms of number of viewers and overall “impact”. Are there studies on this ?

I use for nearly all my docker containers the distro Alpine Linux.

It is much lighter. I commonly find that Alpine images use at least 300MB less disk than Debian ones.

This is a good question and I guess there are pros and cons. This would certainly simplify schedules and meetings between different time zones. On the other hand, it would totally screw up our understanding of when things are supposed to happen, specially when traveling. Like as in: it is 3am, is it time for lunch now ?

My biggest question anyway is how we will manage time once we become a multi planet species.

Never had this issue. And again, at least in Central Europe they do the change from Saturday to Sunday when it’s understood that most people have less constraints with tight times and alarms.

I hear often that strength training is more beneficial as, supposedly, increments your growth hormone levels.

I sincerely do not understand the problem people have with changing a single hour in a single day during a weekend in the year.
