It kind of worked, but had some problems, like mostly targeted to mac os (probably the dev env) but not so much with linux. And could maybe do to much, with a flaky configuration in https://starlark-lang.org/. I've spend some hours trying to make it work for my use case, but it ended beeing wasted time...

I told to my colleague that it would take less time for me to vibe code jira that it would take him to configure it. Sounds crazy ? Not so much : factor the part of jira you use (maybe 10%), the many choices and dimensions you have to configure, the time it take and the complexity it bring. On the other side, the vibe code version have only the fields you want, most of the logic hard written in code (ie epic > story >task...), and that you could do anything any role, any authentication scheme.

Most of the time, you want the type to be dynamic in a scripting langage, as you don't want to expose the types to the user. With this in mind, rhai and rune are pretty good. On the python front, there was also the pyoxidizer thing, put it seems dead.

The question is not the monopoly by itself, it's to conquer other market by abusing it's power. If you own search and mobile os, without régulation, what could you prevent to own mobile service, then fiber, then delivery then car, then train, then whatever ?
