I think it's every 7 days?
Not sure about the timeframe, but it's one of those things where you can't be offline "forever".

Claude Code has been incredibly helpful extending soap-go to better support XML handling in Go: https://github.com/tnymlr/soap-go
Specifically WSDL/XSD support, for auto generating code and similar from vendor supplied documentation.
The Go ecosystem handles JSON (ie Swagger) fairly well, but in-depth XML handling has been a weak point compared to Java where it's very mature. Claude is helping with closing that gap. :)

Nah, don't think so. When I setup my main dev desktop (a Debian variant) a few months ago it defaulted to X11 and getting Wayland to work on it was a pain in the butt.
That being said, on a different box with an older gen Nvidia card (3070) it defaulted to Wayland and just worked out of the box.
So, bit of a mixed bag. ;)

That crowd are just deeply concerned one of their lucrative revenue streams is disappearing.
So they seem to be attempting to pull a fast one and use unproven claims to try and convert their competitor into a replacement revenue source.
It'll probably be a case of whoever has the best lawyers + contacts + persistence wins.
But it'll be interesting if discovery shows evidence they know they don't have a case and are trying it anyway. "Piercing the corporate veil" can theoretically be a consequence of that AFAIK.

> [a] great deal of open-source software and hobbyist knowledge sharing has never been driven by financial reward
It seems like a lot of the underlying sentiment which was driving that was to contribute to the world and make things better for our fellow people.
Working on OSS software sure doesn't feel as rewarding in the last few years, so I've personally stepped back from 99% of what I do. As have more public people that have worked on OSS for a long time.
