this month, I have developed and published a so-called 'mini app' in wechat. It is more like instant app from android 2017 year with web technology, but tencent restricted a lot of functions so you cannot use the standard web technology and i believe it is for security reason and $$$. In my options, i dont think it is an app revolution but it is more like a trending for this industry, like facebook instant game or web app.
