My point is more this was posted without context.

I may be interested to read a blog post about the trials and tribulations the creator had, I'm sure there was something interesting going on getting LLMs writing Z80 assembly and testing things on real devices.

Not interested in reading an uncurated Claude context summary.

I want to hear about the great time they had. That would be interesting.

Instead I hear about the great time Claude had being prompted to do it.

edit: noticed the person who posted this here is not the same as the author. the author appears to have just randomly made the project public without any kind of announcement. so we don't know their intentions.

The reason it isn't obvious is because the tool is marketed as replacing the artists, and that's how people are using it.

Also what the author of this post did could easily be added to the training/harness/skills of ChatGPT in a future version.

Ironically in macOS 27 I've had a bunch of issues with Safari extensions. 50% of the time they don't load on their whitelisted domains. Click on their toolbar icon and they pop in.

The video covers how CP/Ms big problem was that the disk formats weren't the same between machines, doubly true for this Sony which used new 3.5" disks. So all the existing CP/M software had to be specifically re-released for this machine, which caused a chicken and egg problem (who is going to release software for a machine nobody is buying because there is no software for it)

The MS-DOS world solved the problem by everyone just cloning the IBM hardware down to the disk format.

I remember when you paid your ISP for internet access and in that cost they also provided you with an e-mail address, they ran a Usenet server for their customers, and gave you space for web hosting. Now all of that is expected to be paid for with ads instead.

Your analogy does not work since they can still show ads to logged-out users, nobody is getting anything for free. Meta even creates shadow-profiles of users without accounts to track them across the internet.

It's all about getting people locked into walled gardens. I wish the EU DMA had taken a harder stance on this and required all social media to federate to some extent.

For me it's gotten way better in iOS/macOS 27. It's also way faster. They claim to have rewritten the spotlight index to handle the new Siri integration.

Checking the wayback machine, this URL seems to have only shown up a couple months ago with the very latest devices, and has slowly been backfilled with older devices since then. Wonder if it's due to the EU repairability regulations.

I would have also thought they only supplied this stuff to people who signed an MFi contact that stipulates certain rules on implementation.

I watched a bit of someone's play through and was impressed by how much content there actually was for a one-off bit like this. I would have assumed they would have just made enough content to make for a funny ad but there's quite a lot of scripted storyline and voice acting.
