The writing is rather low quality, but seems to be consistent with their other posts.
Maybe to give credit they are being purposefully vague about details to avoid giving away the bait but still seem like you could give me details without literally copy and pasting the attack.

if you're going to lobby that criticism, you should atleast offer an alternative definition of popular...unless you're saying your usage of a tool defines its popularity

> High concurrency
> Share memory by communicating
> Centralized cancellation mechanism with context.Context
> Expansive standard library
> Profiling
> Bonus: LLMs are good at writing Go code
I think profiling is probably the lowest value good here, but would be willing to hear out stories of AI middleware applications that found value in that.
Cancelling tasks is probably the highest value good here, but I think the contending runtimes (TS/Python) all prefer using 3P libraries to handle this kind of stuff, so probably not the biggest deal.
Being able to write good Go code is pretty cool though; I don't write enough to make a judgement there.

by making it a generic `t` you lose explicit syntax highlighting. Where something like JS template`string` could determine which syntax to use based on the template value.
I supposed when assigning it to a, variable: SyntaxRecognizableTemplate, you could give it the hint necessary.
was this discussed in the PEP?
*edit: reading the PEP-750[1] it doesn't seem like it..
[1] https://peps.python.org/pep-0750/#the-interpolation-type

Not really familiar with this space but I think the entire Dojo/DIY strategy was kicked off because Elon wanted to not get cornered on supply or cost by nvidia. And infiniband is an nvidia technology, so they wouldn’t use that simply from strategic POV.
Are there other technologies they could have used?
Also, the 80us is supposed to be the worst case, where typical is supposed to be <10us. Again not knowing anything about infiniband, what’s the typical perf? I tried to google but the people who are talking about it are in the know in ways I’m not.
Thanks!

Go is getting hype because TS is old news. And people got tired of being nerd sniped into trying Rust and being let down.
It’s okay, hype cycles are good since it shakes up mainstream opinion and gets people to try stuff. Like a new trendy food. I don’t feel much in the ways about it.
How do you feel about Go outside of the hype cycle?

Zuck example was misleading I think. Since he’s been doing athletics since his teenage years, including combat sports (fencing and wrestling IIRC). His parents wanted him to be good at 3 sports, at least one of them being a team sport…I think.
Also, instead of “things that don’t scale”, I think it’s probably being more of a craftsman. Being at scale necessarily means “giving away your legos”[1]. Which can make your impact very detached. Being a craftsman brings you back. But idk, never been a CEO that’s scaled :)
1. https://review.firstround.com/give-away-your-legos-and-other...
