There will probably never be AGI. This shit is just snake oil. Nor do we have a proper definition of what AGI actually is or what it's supposed to do.

There will be a small handful of billionaires claiming that AGI is just around the corner ad infinitum just to serve themselves at this moment in time, and capitalise from the hype.

There is no "AGI" endgame. This is shitty ass hypercapitalism in action and nothing more. I'll repeat: snake oil.

They mysteriously stopped working on my machine and the LEDs on the GPUs are blinking with a weird colour. There's also a strange smell emanating from them. I'm still investigating.

My pet peeve is the AI generated voices. I absolutely love the cosmology-astrophysics-space stuff. And it can be any crap if it's correct enough and entertaining enough and passive enough that I can fall asleep to it.

But once I detect that the voiceover is AI generated that shit get instablocked forever. It's an instant put-off. Do all the visuals you want with AI as long as they are reasonable but when a human (AI) voice starts to fuck with the way a word has been presented in a particular context then it just makes me want to hate everything I won't mention any names elevenlabs.

Happened at a (large) company I worked for in the past. A devops guy stole the DB ahead of going to work with a rival, he was caught and the rival of course wanted nothing to do with it. I'm not sure of his fate but it couldn't have been much fun.

Always reminds me of why OOP came about in the first place; it was a way to manage complexity and led to much better and grander software. Now nobody talks about OOP because abstractions are built into just about everything.
