I have exactly 0 knowledge of the situation in California, but I'd be curious if they have (on top of my head, might be missing many more factors)
- adequately paid and educated teachers
- small classroom sizes
- available support for special needs kids
If all of these are in place, are the bad outcomes explainable by poorer socioeconomic factors? And are there any forced learning policies like standardized tests that promote rote memorization?
It just seems so far fetched that a teacher's union would single handedly sabotage the whole education system. Even if they push for a certain kind of teaching, it would simply not tank the whole ship, so to speak.
(I know I'm talking slightly past your points, but I'm mostly interested in the point of how much does the union actually affect the learning outcomes, all the other factors considered)

But he doesn't know who he's dealing with this time. The master of the deal himself, Donald Trump!
Let me explain: Trump has no issues making a terrible deal with Iran and leaving Israel to fend for itself. He will allow Iran to keep nuclear material and develop the bomb, while selling oil and collecting tolls from Hormuz if he can in some way spin it as a win. He is sick of this war, can't even continue it anyway and is looking for any exit. The art of the deal, baby!

> Teacher's unions (hard to fire teachers, poor quality)
Certainly you can quantify this poor quality and show it's due to unions and not, say, lack of resources?
> Transit unions (mandating 2 drivers per subway car, crazy benefits, etc)
2 drivers per subway car sounds like (at least with old tech) a good thing for everyone's safety.
> Auto industry fighting EVs.
Sounds like this was more the companies themselves, but I don't have the details.
In my view unions are largely a good thing to balance out companies power, but I've also heard stories where they have become too strong. There's nuance to the matter, but I feel like at least the US could use much more and stronger unions.

It looks like a prime, but can be caught with the second-simplest test: sum of the digits is 12, which is divisible by 3. Hence it's divisible by 3.
(The simplest test being of course if the number is even and bigger than 2)
Edit: now that I think about it, probably should not have tried to impose ordering to the simplicity of tests. There's of course the divisibility by 5 test, which is even simpler.

> They (everyone) are not forced to buy it. They’re buying it on the hype.
But they are and that's the key part of the scam. The index funds will have to buy these, since they are so highly valued. Index funds in turn are very popular investment devices used by pension funds, banks, individuals etc.

Index funds will prop up the valuations of these companies, while they return nothing but value on paper. The owners on the other hand can use the valuation as collateral to loans, which then generates cash for them. Musk and Altman would be the most visible benefactors of this scheme, yes.

I'm sure there are multiple ways to profit from the situation. Even having just a small fraction of the shares publicly traded, while the index funds keep the price high is a huge win for him, as his net worth will be extreme on paper.

In this case, Elon has moved the wildly unprofitable XAI into SpaceX. SpaceX will IPO with a trillion dollar valuation, while only releasing a small number of shares for public trading.
Due to the high valuation, index funds are required to buy SpaceX stock, which Elon will presumably slowly sell them in order not to crash the stock. The funds will be left holding the stock, while eventually the price will crash, because the company will simply not make enough money to justify the valuation.

It should still take a year until it's added to the indices, no? At least that's how I understood the SpaceX case: Elon wanted to rush it and get it done in 6 months.
So there's still hope that the bubble pops before the funds are poisoned.
