> I think the people complaining in this thread would complain about anything.
So much THIS!
If they were free, people would complain that you still have to pay property taxes/utilities.
Everyone LOVES to criticize but that same group rarely offers solutions, lest others criticize them.
Here (Ontario, Canada) housing is a major issue for the reason you list : Nobody is big enough to push back and make it happen.
Try and build anything here and you will be NIMBY to death. I ride my bike by an area where they are tying to build low-rise apartments and everywhere you look are signs protesting it.. where should they build?

Let us guess, you are also fabulously wealthy?
For some odd reason fictional spies seem to be very wealth as well.
If you worked for CSIS it is unlikely you would be posting that you worked there, same for the CIA. Did you somehow just transfer to the CIA and as a "foreign national" all the confidential material marked "NOFORN" was suddenly available to you, a foreigner?
Declaring yourself a "spy" in public.. Any chance you have yet to reach the age of majority?

The laws around prosecuting shoplifters:
"Previously, if you were charged with theft or retail theft, and the value of the item or items taken was over $300 you could be charged with a class 4 felony.
Regen breaking.. similar to how manual transmission cars can transfer some stopping power from the brakes to the engine.. regen breaking changes the electric motor into a generator and this consumes power slowing the car down.
These actions cause the brakes to last a LOT longer. I've never driven an EV but the manual transmission cars i have had needed far fewer brake jobs.

> Wheel bearings on modern cars are incredibly long-lived. I don't think I've changed one in over 30 years on our family cars.
Depends on the car. I had a POS Chevy uplander and had to replace them 3 times. Angry because my Mazda was the same age, same milage and on its original set so i asked the GM mechanic why..
He told me the design. I'm going to guess the Uplander has the cheapest ones available?
But like you, I thought the same thing.. is "bearings" really a thing these days and apparently it is??
I'm never going to buy another "domestic" car again, and this whole "infotainment" mess we see here reinforces my decision.

I have access to the radioactivity diagrams for a 10 year old spent fuel bundle.
Needless to say it is rather radioactive...
But it is easily contained by the water in the pools, and then the dry storage casks it is moved to once it is no longer "thermally hot" and needs constant cooling.
This guy is just your typical anti-nuke posting the classic talking points about all the billions of tonnes of used fuel?

looks like we found "that guy".. the one who posts about the enormous amount of used fuel circling the globe looking for a home.
There is a nuclear power plant not far from me. it went "live" in 1973 and all the spent fuel to date is still stored on site.
Step 1 : sit in a pool for around 10 years
Step 2 : sit in a dry canister for a few more decades.
Eventually we need to find a better solution, but the fact remains there is not a whole lot of it.

I lived out in Alberta long ago.. if you like "nature".. Ontario doesnt have much to offer.. it isnt like you can see a snow-covered mountain range from your backyard in Ontario (this was my view in Calgary).
But we do have Lake Ontario, Niagara falls, etc.
Walk down the bridge, pay the 25 or 50 cents and walk to the US side... Niagara falls Canada is a tourist trap, the US side is a state park.
The GTA (Greater Toronto area) will be an interesting experience for you.
Despite the massive size of the country, a lot of the population lives in a thin strip along the US/CAN border.
Population of Alberta 4.371 million
Population of the GTA 5.928 million
Population of Canada 38.25 million
