Funny thing. We in India pay regularly close to $1000 (oh the irony there) for a regular iPhone 7 - and they sell a lot here.

I get symmetric 200/200 for about $70/month in Bangalore, India. It's just a dumb pipe though (no included TV/phone, though I could also go for those).

I checked the benchmark code out. I have asked the author for more information. I am not sure if all the tests were limited to using only 1 core during the run. GOMAXPROCS=1 severely limits the Go version.

1 Go worker process can utilise all the cores in the server. I just want to get that clarified.

They had to rollback the update:

We were bit by the `closeConnIfStillIdle` bug as we didn't expect the stdlib to panic like that (also something you cannot recover from, as it happens in a goroutine which you didn't create.)

Why oh why limit it from being available in countries like India? You want users, we got users. Can never comprehend behind a geo wall for things like this (and can totally understand why Netflix wasn't earlier).

PS: I wonder how much hello.com cost, and how did he have control over the orkut.com domain?

We visited France/Paris for our marriage anniversary back in June; and the city left a lasting impression on for over the course of 4 days.

All I can say is; don't change your fundamentals. Then they have won. It's just a larger version of your bitcoin demanding DDOS bandits. Once you give in, humanity will fail.

I am more worried about the innocent people who are going to suffer because of this.
