Hoopi Pedal: A 2-channel digital effects + recording pedal, based on the Daisy Seed and the ESP32 [1]. PCB design, embedded firmware, DSP and Flutter app - all are mine. Some technical notes on firmware (OTA updates, etc.) and Flutter app dev (using native methods for vidoe-audio sync, auto cross-correlation, etc.) are published on my blog [2].

Hi HN,

I built Trinity, a native macOS app that wraps Neovim with a project-centric UI.

The goal was to keep Neovim itself untouched, but provide a more Mac-native workflow: – Finder-style project browser – Multiple projects/windows – Markdown preview, image/pdf viewer – Native menus, shortcuts, and windowing – Minimal UI, no GPU effects or terminal emulation

It’s distributed directly (signed + notarized PKG) and uses Sparkle for incremental updates.

This started as a personal tool after bouncing between terminal Neovim and heavier editors. Curious to hear feedback from other Neovim users, especially on what feels right or wrong in a GUI wrapper.

A standalone audio processing engine + app with a web ui for the Raspberry Pi and other ARM based SBCs, that let's me use NAM models from tone3000 for guitar effects. Two channels with gains, noise gate, NAM, eq and reverb.

A web app for my music needs - metronome, ABC notation editor with MIDI playback and PDF render, an embedded YouTube video player with a chapter/section creator based on timestamps and a looping feature for the chapters for practicing

Offline first, everything is saved to Local Storage. Sharing is also purely serverless - the ABC text and the video chapter defs are shared via query parameters after compression and base64 encoding.

Tech: React, Material UI, ToneJS, ABCJS, CloudFlare (Pages, Workers, D1 Storage)

Next: Add an AI assistant to the ABC editor - editing ABC text gets painful fast.

Working on Symph (https://symphmusic.com), a web app for musicians that lets you synchronize measures/bars in a music score with timestamps in a YouTube video. Demo video: https://youtu.be/az6IENwtn78

It's like Songsterr, except you get to reuse your existing music scores (PDF/PNG/JPG). I am using a supervised ML model to auto-detect the music bars in the score.

Definitely interested in collaborating. My skillsets range from web (NextJS, React), React Native, native iOS, native Android, embedded systems (firmware and hardware).

I have a 12 year old autistic son. He attends ABA therapy. I am also looking to create tools and apps that can help him communicate better. Also, he's very musical, so I am looking at better ways to help him learn piano (he loves Simply Piano but I want something that let's me define a custom lesson plan based on MIDI files of songs he loves).

This is more problematic with the USCIS immigration helpline bot. You don't have the option to yake your business elsewhere.

Trying to get the phone bot to let me talk to a human at USCIS is like talking to the Avrona Kern AI from Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

Me: The typographic error submission site throws an error when I try to use it.

Avrona Kern: We have a website to submit typographic errors.

Avrona Kern: Would you like to receive the link via SMS or email?

Me: That site doesn't work! Agent.

Avrona Kern: Would you like to receive the link by SMS or email?

Me: Agent

Avrona Kern: I can help you.

Me: Agent

Avrona Kern: If you keep asking for agent I will end the call.

Me: Typographic site throws error

Googling revealed that there are some keywords that make Avrona give up and let me through. Not gonna reveal that here, in case they close those loopholes and some poor schmuck is left with no options.

Completely agree on the Simply Piano plus MIDI approach. My autistic son is musically inclined, can play piano by ear. We have struggled trying to get him formally trained to read music. Then we found Simply Piano. He's taken to it very well, treating it as a game. This is the only way we have managed to get him to read music. We use it in conjunction with a music teacher via Zoom.
