My LG tv post-update is never allowed on a network and it will never be updated again. Hopefully it never breaks…

Even if you look at your purchase history now they have intentionally destroyed that too. What size shoe did you buy 3 years ago? Too bad we are not telling you!

The purchase/shipped/etc email was the lifeline to tracking your Amazon spending and exactly what you bought. Now that is impossible. It's similar to a business refusing to give you a proper receipt and should be likely illegal.

What 3rd party companies I let hoover up my Amazon purchase emails is none of their business.

Nope. People don’t want them because they fear the DC will further increase utility bills. These companies openly talk about eliminating their jobs via AI with glee. Why would anybody help them? They are against the average persons best interests for their profit.

It’s debatable if a DC will affect local energy costs but people don’t want to risk it. Big tech has lost all their social capital. I would say at this point all of corporate America has. They have too much power over the public. People are starting to push back.

I would assume people would switch to using FEX which is tuned for game performance for the x86 emulation bit.

They have to be doing some variant of this in the life cycle because of how wildly the performance changes over time. I refuse to give Anthropic my own money because the subscription plans are essentially useless. It's rather nice with a company API account with no spending limit though. But really oAI models are more consistent over time in my experience.

Of course they are. They will boil the frogs slowly until they get the frog soup they so desire. Each time the water gets a little bit too hot (public outrage) they will turn it back down for a bit.

Every major global region has this problem. I would tell you the slope is slippery, but I already fell down and cracked my head open.

Joking aside, this privacy invasion will keep happening until there are laws passed (a foundational constitution perhaps?) that make it impossible to attempt to even create such laws/rules.

Take an hour off at 2-3pm in any major US city and look at how many people are just milling about. Mostly shopping. There are a lot of people in the US that are not working.

Pre-2008 retail was quiet in the middle of the day, now it booms. I can’t comment on if this is a good or bad thing, but I am surprised at how many people are causally walking their dog as I am rushing to compete an essential errand and get back to work.

This comes off as extremely condescending. I am pretty sure the person you are trying to give basic dieting advice already knows this. Why are you trying so hard to convince people to not take medication that helps them?

I am real jealous of the boomers and gen-x being able to bail on the tech job market right as it goes to shit. Could not make for better timing. Everyone else looking at somehow surviving for the next 20-30 years knows that it’s looking pretty bleak.

For all the folks that proudly say “fine I will use browser X instead!” Don’t you realize the next step is to slowly change chrome so sites will work in chrome, but not other minority browsers?

This is the fast track to being next in a round of layoffs. If your manager does not know you, they won’t vouch for you when it comes time to toss people out of the airlock. You are in a vulnerable position.

It’s because upper management demands it. Do most of your coding with an LLM or find another job, etc. How much you “llm all the things” is now a measured performance metric.

It’s pure madness but employees are obligated to give the people that pay them what they want. Either that or lose your healthcare and housing.

I wish iPadOS properly handled full screen and keyboard input. It runs rather well on my M4 iPad Pro but the lack of proper full screen support in the browser with mouse capture ruins it. Awesome emulator though!

Even if a Mac mini at home was slightly cheaper per token I still use OpenRouter because I want to out source the heat generation and noise to a datacenter.
