There are evolutionary benefits to groups that cooperate and improve fairness internally.

But if an AI surpasses humans in every way, is there any evolutionary benefit for the AI to cooperate with humans?

Of course the easiest solution to the problem is money. You sell the games you don't want for money. You buy the games you want with money.

Much simpler than algorithms for bartering.

The difference is mostly heart disease not "risky behavior".

If anything the average software engineer is more likely to die of heart disease due to our sedentary lifestyles.

Sitting on chairs is the real "risky behavior" in terms of health, although few people think of it that way.

Your CDC figure is an average over all genders. Assuming hacker news readers are disproportionately men, the mortality rate is even higher, since men die younger than women on average.

The Arab States post-1948 genocide of indigenous middle eastern Jews has been far more complete than Israel's genocide of Muslims. There are almost zero indigenous middle eastern Jews left in the Arab states, vs two million Muslims living in Israel (20% of Israel's population).

Isn't long covid just CFS that can be attributed to Covid?

If you accept that multiple viruses can cause "long " syndromes, of which long covid is just one example, it's plausible that CFS is really a cluster of syndromes, one category of which is these post viral syndromes. We just can't pinpoint the virus behind it every time because most viruses haven't been studied as much as Covid has.

Israel withdrew fully from Lebanon in 2000, and this was certified by the UN, yet Hezbollah kept attacking them anyway.

If Hezbollah offered Israel a choice between: peace with Hezbollah OR occupy land in Lebanon, I think Israel would rationally choose peace.

But Hezbollah has never offered this. Their stated goal is complete destruction of Israel.

So if the options are: Hezbollah shoots at you from right across the border OR you occupy a buffer zone and Hezbollah still shoots at you but from further away:

Isn't it perfectly rational to choose the buffer zone?

Imagine if the US government diverted the billions spent on this war into building out green energy infrastructure.

If everyone had electric cars charging from solar then Iran's strait gambit would be much less effective.

But the strait has two sides and Iran only controls one side. The UAE/Oman on the other side could equally threaten to attack Iranian ships unless Iran pays them a toll.
