For a first attempt it may help to keep the focus on what you find interesting. I just built a very simple web app that connects to strava api and emails me if "i'm slacking" based on my weekly time / mileage. The UI kinda sucks right now, but it works completely off a raspberry pi and I can access it from the web. If I'm looking to hire and you have a hosted, working example to point to then I would think you're fairly capable as a developer. You can add on to it and make it nicer to show off other skills.

i would forget the online courses. pick something to build and ship it. if you're familiar with python you could start with a flask app + sqlite.

Why? What impact is it having? Or is it just non technical people complaining similar to how a dev may complain that PMs should understand the code more.

Have you considered the opposite... writing a book? I think writing a book is going to help you learn to think better than reading ever would. Writing is basically refined thought.

No single tool can do all of that for you. "Validating the idea" involves so much work that it's hilarious you expect an LLM tool to be able to validate an idea for you.

What is the significance of being a senior at MIT studying Course 6? No offense but that means nothing to me as I'm not American. I guess it means something significant if that's how you start describing yourself. Do you have work experience? What job are you expecting to get? What kind of side projects have you built? What value can you provide?

I think its so that you can't easily toggle them off by using the phone software. for example, you are trying to get work done so you set two up: a focus one by your desk, another somewhere else where you have to get up. so you have to get up and walk over to the 2nd one to turn off the focus mode
