KDE Plasma allows hide selected applications from the tray and make those accessible in a popup window. The solution to this problem is not to remove the feature entirely, but actually implement it properly.

Because he is a solo maintainer and has an outweighed influence on the software I would depend on. Plasma community is much healthier as a whole.

You are using a 3 year old Plasma release (5.27). Give the latest Plasma a try and you should hopefully be positively surprised.

I used Konsole for years and it's great but since switching to Neovim as a primary editor I also switched to Kitty terminal which is in its own league. Kitty is the only one that I substituted the core KDE app for.

Never used Gentoo, but what is its advantages over, say, Guix? I don't actually use guix or nix as a daily driver, although one year ago I did install Guix on a separate partition of my desktop PC and I use nix via Home manager to install various cli-based tools.

I haven't read Brave New World but "We" by Evgeny Zamyatin left a similar impression on me, it's more subtle than 1984. It came out earlier than both books by the Western authors - even though Zamyatin was inspired while working in England in early 20th century.

Thank you for this, I will definitely try it today! What is your opinion on Wim Hof breathing exercises, are they helpful in a similar way? I am asking because I do them occasionally and feel great every time.

This frustrates me too, switching takes even longer than 5 seconds for me. I use an external KVM switch (with a physical button) and I run a laptop via a ThinkPad docking station, so two more devices in my case.

I had to use MacOS recently and wasn't impressed by Finder. I am convinced that the best file manager on the market bar none is Dolphin from KDE software suite.

Qt is used to develop arguably the best desktop environment on the market - KDE Plasma - as well as a miriad of serious software artifacts. It's not exactly native to MacOS and Windows, but advantages overweight the downsides.
