<p>One solution that we've been implementing in our APIs is the Seek Method (<a href="https://use-the-index-luke.com/sql/partial-results/fetch-next-page" rel="nofollow">https://use-the-index-luke.com/sql/partial-results/fetch-nex...</a>) which scales very well with large data sets in postgres, while avoiding some of the mentioned problems.</p>
