You just reminded me that 90s StarCraft did have a mode where 2 players would command a single “team”. Basically a single “player” with multiple cursors. It was rad! Haven’t seen the concept duplicated.

I would focus on the economy and my brother would do the military and fight the bots.

I’ve started to adapt my historic accounting of gaming away from hardware centric (console generations) and toward languages and compilers, and the force-multiplication they provided to developers which is tangibly evident in the products. Though these do correlate strongly with orders of magnitude of RAM being made available.

- Physical logic gate era of gaming.

- Assembly era

- C era

- OOP era

- Interpreted languages and game logic living in scripts on top of c++ engines

- Fully Gen-AI era?

My trick is to just never power slide when I need to be handicapped to not ruin the kids Christmas. Or tap the accel A button in a PWM pattern.

One Apple Mail feature nobody here has commented on was called Piano Mover internally. I don’t know the public marketing name. It lets attachments over 10MB in emails be replaced with iCloud hosted file references.

I do 8k video editing on a Mac Studio. Files are often multiple TB (raw camera capture which I have to encode to ProRes). Moving this kind of bandwidth is absolutely what I have to do and Apples’ bad networking is a blocker I’ve discovered.

And the human eye is a million times better than that.

Digital is not clean. Noise exists whether molecular or voltage on a sensor.

The clean you are used to is likely a compression or digital filter result.
