Reminds me of a "stable window" app gadget from mid-2000's that used the built-in accelerometer to make a window stable irrespectively of laptop's tilt.

I randomly stumbled upon Intel's PCI Vendor ID being 0x8086 which attracted my attention, so much so that I scanned the entire database looking for other fun and eye-catching ID's, and found quite a few.

Intel's PCI Vendor ID is 0x8086, There are many more like that in the database

HTC magic was just about that size ! (and it ran whooping Android up to 1.6 I believe). It was a 2nd publicly available android phone, right after the HTC with Dream.

I remember that my Pebble 2 (HR) over time (pun intended) would develop play around the rubber button area especially on the right side. Eventually the rubber covering the buttons would break off. This was common to the point people were making 3d-printed replacement parts. See https://help.rebble.io/pebble-2-buttons/ What's the expected longevity of the buttons this time around, and will you have replacement parts available ?

brings a tear to my eyes. I ran a local ISP with over 150 subscribers. You can imagine the havoc after folks discovered they all could use WinPopup (since obviously everyone's domain was "WORKGROUP"...

Run a VM (even if it's slow) or rent a cheap VPS (lowendbox.com is my go to), you can get a cheap Linux server for maybe $5 a month.

And you know what ? I highly advise YOU DO DAMAGE the system! many times over, and over. This is the best way to learn. Do experiments on that Linux, one at a time. You ARE going to break things, and that's okay. Learn how to fix them - you'll be a master in no time. Yes, this means running "rm -rf /", see how the system reacts to that (keep a shell session open, but also try opening another session, such as via SSH). Try to fill up a drive, fill up memory, see what happens etc etc.

It must be because VLC allows people to watch pirated content. Which would be the most ridiculous reason to get banned for.
