You seem to be asking question "why people use hacks in C instead of coding in other languages which are more C++ like". Then you describe what is to be C++ like. Well, maybe the issue is that certain people precisely want to avoid the features you just described. Have you considered that?

There is a push to use ai unconditionally and without verification to prove how much it's useful.

If the problem are human behaviours around ai, that is: eagerness to see the results (both military and Palantir), greediness to make money (Palantir), then the ai becomes the root of the problem.

Not very much following the forums, but the pace they are producing things is fine. What is "basic usability thing" for you, might be something unimportant for the rest. How the team sets the priorities might be just fine for a lot of users..

Disagree. It's just admitting that the company can and will be cynical when it comes to the conflict of interests between them and the employee.

Making friends at the workplace is fine until there is such conflict, then where will they stand? If they will turn they back on you (and most of them will), then how much is such relation worth in the first place?

Making decisions based on distinguishing A from B is a legit thing to do. Complaining that it's "telling what's right and wrong" is a strawman argument IMO. It's about choices: they made a choice and many users are/will be joufully making the compatible choice.

I discovered just this week that the numbering of weeks within the year is different between US and Europe, thus, cal -w can show different numbers for some years depending on the locale. Outlook can probably also show different things depending on the system settings.

Europe uses the algo according to the ISO 8601 standard, where the week no.1 is the one with January 1st occuring between Monday and Thursday, inclusive. If the 1st happens on Friday or later within a week, it's considered a week no.52 or 53 of the previous year.

US does not use this scheme and [EDITED] I am not sure what method is applied there.

Some companies use week numbers in business talks, planning and scheduling, so be aware who is speaking about which weeks!
