I've been thinking a lot about this across many different mediums, not just filmmaking, and I think it's one worth digging deeper on.*

What is lost when losing the (understandably annoying) process of the grind? By letting LLMs do the busy work, do you lose the opportunity to stumble into randomness? Do you lose the understanding of what is possible/interesting with the medium?

And do you end up in this derivative future where decisions are made by a system that was trained on all the previous uses of it?

Obviously that's fairly hyperbolic, but I have absolutely felt the pull of it all. When it decides to take a couple extra steps I didn't ask for creatively and I think "eh, that's fine."

*EDIT: I wrote this and looked back and this SOUNDS like an LLM wrote it. See what I mean??????

I expected this to call out the number of links that are obviously vibe coded, like itself!

If you see:

- ALL CAPS subheaders

- a light beige background

- burnt sienna anchor and/or highlight text

- a "• LIVE" (or really any pulsing • symbol with an ALL CAPS follow-up)

- tons of variation in font sizes (this one has 15 different text sizes!)

- more typically, a lot of overexplaining

...you know it's vibe'd, specifically with Claude!

Not to go off topic, but there's some similarities between that and the way that Hacker News is run/moderated. But I believe they've found a pretty ideal balance. Even though they occasionally annoy me with with fun things taken down, I understand the need to have some consistency.

Perhaps they need to take a page out of dang (and team)'s book.

hi, creator of the site here.

A LONG time ago, I was shared on a document with a brand font and was surprised to see it was a custom one. With a bit of testing, I realized I could pull it into a new document and that new document would then become "infested" with that font and allow me to use it anywhere else within.

I recently realized there must be even more fonts that exist that I don't know of, so (transparently, with the help of Claude,) I ran through a list of potential clients (some listed on Google Workspace's site, some I just assumed) and tested across many. This is the list I came back with.
