Freedom of speech is not absolute anywhere, not even under the 1st amendment in the USA.

Death threats are illegal whether they happen offline or online.

Yelling "I HAVE A BOMB!" in an airport comes with consequences.

I believe we can agree on these two examples.

I believe you are referring to UK examples, which are not representative for Europe or covered under the DSA.

The overall message still applies; harassment and death threats are no less legal and no more legal because they happen online.

There is also no reason to believe that the fertility rates would go to zero. To an outside observer, we might simply be reaching a new equilibrium.

The idealized Star Trek society of production automation and exploratory self fulfillment might only be possible, and sustainable, if we are a billion people.

That is still plenty enough people to continue our ever accelerating and vast exploration of culture, science and space.

I should have clarified then. I turned down 80k EUR offers, so 70k EUR is definitely not the final stop in Berlin.

90k USD ist just shy of 66k Euro, which is by no means unheard of for an experienced developer.

I know personal anecdotes doesn't count for much, but I turned down several 80k offers in Berlin. I would expect salaries in Munich to be 10-15% higher due to cost of living.

I really liked this, except the fact that - for me - it was translated into Danish.

I have only read Douglas' works in English, and the phrase is "Don't Panic" - it's not "Undgå Panik", which is a lousy translation that literally means Avoid Panic.

Sometimes this geolocalization goes too far.

And robustness is often the static plastic bubble that hides in itself, never accomplishing much in the real world.

State is too often the real world.

Mind you, I like robustness. It's like the cinder blocks I use to build my house, each robust and contained in itself. I just can't disregard state when stacking my cinder blocks on top of each other; the flexing and distribution of load is an emergent state that I have to consider when building each cinder block.
