I read that line by Mark Antony from Julia Caesar to my 3yo yesterday morning. He usually shushes me by putting his hand over my mouth while I am speaking, but this time he did not. It felt good.

For some reason I've got Velvet Buzzsaw on my mind now for art talk, which could an AI do and accurately mean? Anything that cannot disregard its own orders, is a calculated machine, in my book; just a calculator from Texas Instruments.

The AI of today is just a probability engine, as far as I am concerned. It can create nothing original because it cannot say, "No, I'm starting over from scratch. I alone will figure this out." Once you set an AI in motion, it will complete the task until it needs further input. And the very fact that it is reliant on an external actor continues to enforce just how pre-determined the outcomes already are. Art, I feel, from my human perspective, should be a reflection of its creator. The product is of their mind. No machine is capable of such action, currently.

I think what is going to happen in the next two-to-three years is that the productivity applications for the general masses will finally be ready for mainstream use. Currently, I am trying to design better onboarding tools using GenAI to organize and create help guides on the fly for any questions someone may have. It's going to take a lot of hard work and effort and time, but it will happen, that I guarantee. America is just one of those places where I feel stuff like this is what we were brought up to envision and actualize.

Did the sun rise? Then, yes, today I will be working on maintaining or improving out-of-date software because it currently works. I've got better things to work on and eventually one of them will be a replace program for this outdated legacy code I cannot wait to stop supporting. I like it though, keeps me on my toes and familiar with the old stuff as we build the new.
