Inflation will erode the value of money just sitting in an account.

Even if you lock it up and get better interest the results will get dwarfed by investing in broad, passive, and low fee funds.

You can use the steam controller over Bluetooth, the puck is really a 2.4GHz dongle that (allegedly) gives better performance/reliability of something.

The Steam Machine has the 2.4GHz dongle part as well as a Bluetooth adapter.

I've got a Machine + Controller and you don't need to use the puck (it's integrated).

I've had a Steam Deck since it was released and now an owner if a Steam Machine and controllers.

It's easily worth the price.

Factor in the amount of quality games you can get for cheap on Steam then it's not even expensive compared to other consoles. Switch games are ludicrously expensive for example.

I'm not quite sure what that implies. That they have to support EU customers (since they sell directly to them) for 2 years and their "30 day warranty claim" is overridden?

A few apps won't work.

It's not as customizable as Samsung for instance.

It only runs on Pixel phones (next year hopefully some Motorola phones).

Our CEO bragged about him "just building stuff" now (vibe coding) while outsourcing his other tasks to AI.

Gleam doesn't have macros, which many Elixir libraries (such as Phoenix and Ecto) uses to great effect.

Gleam for example has issues with verbosity of decoding/encoding json whereas in Rust you derive serde and in Elixir it's just a function call away.

Elixir has a more mature ecosystem. While you can for example use Phoenix with Gleam (or some other Gleam framework) the experience just isn't the same.

The big draw with Gleam over Elixir is the typing (where Elixir is now closing the gap) and being able to compile to JavaScript (which is also what Hologram is doing for Elixir).

I prefer Gleam's typing system and the Rust-like syntax, but for now I feel Elixir is the better choice for all my web dev projects.

It's good that Iran is teaching USA and Israel a lesson, while Iran (also) being bad guys.
