Because this is Hacker News.

Because doing ${things that exists} in ${current trendy programming language} is somehow gauged as a Good Thing™ in your portfolio by the startup mindset.

Because posting this Good Thing™ on Hacker News is basically the SF startup scene's own LinkedIn equivalent.

Because other people who has bee doing this Good Thing™ want their own Good Things™ to be validated as well, so they continue this tradition.

Saying that using NoScript means disabling Javascript wholesale is like saying using SELinux or AppArmor means disabling filesystem access wholesale.

I'm curious as to how the pdf2htmlEX project [0] compares to PDF.js. Instead of client-side conversion this is a server-side one-time conversion from PDF to HTML5.

I hate the "invention" of Gifv with every ounce of my soul. If it's a Webm or a MP4 file then say so. There are HTML5 tags for them and their looping. The least the Internet needs is a redundant file extension for what has been done by Gfycat and 4chan/8chan for years now.
