They have always been there - they would ask your question to many people, get their anwers and pass the response as their own.<p>Nowadays their job is much easier, just two copy pastes and lunch break.</p>

<p>In some games - most famously Doom - entire multiplayer is based on exchanging just the inputs and the games on all connected computers are deterministic enough to provide same outcome on all of them.<p>I am one of the authors of Fire Fight game (1996-ish) and we pulled the same stunt. It was actually easy, we just had to build our own "random number generator" and fix all bugs with uninitialized memory :-)</p>

<p>Some things are idioms that one repeats so often they just stick, e.g. I use "grep.... | cut -c x-y | sort | uniq -c | sort -nr" to quickly grep frequency of some events from a log file.<p>Don't feel bad - no one remembers them all, we just remember a few idioms we use...</p>

<p>I have 4 crowns, 2 done using moulds, 2 using the 3d scanner. Same doc, same office. The moulded ones were ok with some adjustments, but the 3d scanned ones were perfect since day 1. I'm happy with the progress in dentistry.</p>
