I suspect until just recently it was because of the negative gearing policies, but now that Labor has officially scrapped any changes I feel like the differences between the parties gets thinner and thinner.

But at least the concentration of wealth would not occur, and right now wealth = power, which often means anti competitive practices like simply buying competitors.

This is the fundamental issue. If there is a environmentally friendly way to industrially produce something, it is not rewarded by our current system of capitalism. It is a form of green capitalism, still looking for profits to guide us to the best solution (when in fact there are better solutions. Our assertion of value is based solely on profits which is fundamentally at odds with this climate emergency. Would love to hear alternative thoughts.

Love this premise! I’ve created my blog and website on Gatsby and am experimenting with creating small targeted campaigns for each of my posts depending on the topic/theme using a self hosted matomo analytics service and a self hosted staticman service (which creates a GitHub PR for moderation) so there are no creepy intermediaries for handling data. It’s pretty surprising and empowering how many solutions are out there that don’t need you to sign up to platforms, but it definitely is a slight (but fun) learning curve. Ah another free market neoliberalist. You do know that government intervention during Keynesian’s time was incredibly helpful for the macro economy - providing jobs and investment into long running avenues. Neoliberalism purports that the private sector will invest diligently but really we’re seeing companies use shortermism as a technique to just make profit.
