Hey HN
I'd love to get your feedback on Mabon.ai.
I think job search is quite tedious for most people. They scan or subscribe to multiple job boards that often send jobs based on just a few keywords, without actually understanding the user's intent or what kind of job they 'really' want. Most of these job boards also seem to optimize for sending a high volume of matches rather than being targeted.
Mabon first understands the user's background and preferences, and then finds only relevant jobs specific to them.
Users can write anything they want in the preferences - "no consulting companies; only funded startups; salary at least $XXX", etc. After the search, it rates all the openings internally based on the user's profile & preferences, and then shows only the strong matches.
Users can then converse with the agent to further refine the search, and once they think the agent has nailed it down, they can set the search to "always-on", so that it keeps scanning continuously.
It helps both active job seekers and folks who are selectively open to a real high-quality match when it shows up.
Btw, it is not limited to the tech sector; it's meant to work across different types of jobs and industries.
I put this into production just a few days ago, so it could be a bit rough around the edges. Please try it out and share your thoughts on it. Thanks.

I'm a versatile generalist with programming background, adept at product management, and thrive in roles involving learning & exploring unknowns. I currently run a bootstrapped SaaS that has been used by over 1.7M users and we use Azure OpenAI GPT-4 for its AI features.
I'd like to contribute as a product manager, or take on any other role where I can leverage my zero to one skill set and founder experience. I'd be a good partner for a non-technical person who is building a venture on their own and wants a solid ally by their side.

I'm a bootstrapped micro-SaaS founder with extensive experience in creating and managing customer-centric SaaS products, including launching AI-powered features using Azure OpenAI GPT-4.
I'm seeking to join a low-ego team tackling an interesting problem and that would be happy to have a generalist like me (with a tech background). I can wear multiple hats, from product/program management to customer research/support, and thrive in roles that involve learning and exploring unknowns.
From 2017 to 2022, I also contributed to rural community development and environmental initiatives in a Himalayan village. If your venture aims to make a positive social or environmental impact, I'd love to connect and see if I can add any value to your team.

Agreed. They are truly majestic.
Back when I saw them in Corbett national park with their kill, the thing that amazed me the most was their size. They looked bigger than a hatchback! (Ignorant me)
Jim Corbett's books have been recommended in this thread, and he talks about their behavior in the wild in great detail. Worth a read if you want to know more about them.

I started reading HN when it was called Startup News, and it has changed my life. I now live in a small village near the Himalayas, and run my startup called Resumonk (along with my Co-Founder). We both work remotely, pay ourselves well and have the freedom to live life completely on our terms. I'm now living my dream and HN played a huge role in it.
Apart from the learning related to startups/tech, reading the views of all the smart people here on a variety of other topics has made me a better person. It has also given me insights on different cultures & people from different backgrounds.
A big thanks to everyone who contributes here. Your words/submissions silently might be having a great positive impact in some corner of the world. Please keep sharing your knowledge & experience.
p.s. Also met my Co-Founder through HN when he did a 'Show HN' for Resumonk!

You can have a look at Resumonk - https://www.resumonk.com
The paid plan allows creation of multiple resumes/cover letters each customized for a particular job opening. It gives a 'Clone' option that creates a copy of the existing resume and you can then tweak it based on the job you are applying. All these versions of your resume/cover letter are available from your Dashboard for future reference.
Full Disclosure: I'm the Co-Founder of Resumonk.

May be you can think about building a platform where clients can submit their gigs and testers can work on those short projects. You already have a community, and some of them might like to earn additional income but can't find such opportunities easily.
From a client's perspective, we are looking 'vetted' testers who are detail oriented and can be relied upon for a thorough job.
My email address is in the HN profile. Feel free to contact me in case you'd like to discuss this further.
Wish you a lot more success in the future!

@rosiesherry - Congratulations for building up a good business along with what I assume a very hectic personal life (4 kids!). :-)
You've discontinued testing services, but I think there is a big market out there. We've been looking for a platform where we can list our website & its high level use cases, and then 1 or more testers can test it out thoroughly. We've tried sites like MyCrowd in the past, but didn't get a great result from them. Most testers just submitted cosmetic bugs and weren't as detail oriented as we'd like.
I'm sure there would be other startups who have similar needs for getting their sites/apps tested and can easily pay for such a service.
Are you (or anyone else here on HN) aware of any good testing services out there or a place where we can find good freelance testers?
