This is all true but it also did not help matters that Israel perpetually bombed power plants and related infrastructure in the country over the same period of time.

helpful, thanks. seems like it still needs an extra step. i was hoping that the paprika app had this native functionality so you can scan right into the app (i'm not a tech guy but i assume that there are OCR APIs out there...?)

yeah, i saw that. i'm interested in how to transcribe paper recipes. i have a lot of cookbooks that i under-utilize at time of meal planning b/c they're captured in a "dumb" format, and I don't want to page through 15 books every weekend.

correct. and to continue the reasoning, we experience this as bureaucratic inefficiency because the inspectors / regulators / etc are chronically underfunded relative to the growing number of users requiring their service. and that's for two related reasons: the bureaucracy is a lagging response as you and others note, and our government has gotten woefully incapable of forward thinking (because of multi-decade sabotage).

$6,000 / 0.04 = $150,000. in other words, if OP had saved $150,000 and was withdrawing 4% per year, they would have the same $6,000 as what the app is generating.

the analogy is imperfect, because presumably the OP is spending some time to generate that app income; it's not totally passive.

perhaps, but those things are related. the necessity of live human interaction must have created regular feedback loops that arrested extreme user-unfriendly cost saving measures. the digital world reduces or outright removes those frictions.

NYT's spelling bee has a feature that i think you should consider implementing: a button and/or key press (e.g. space) that shuffles the remaining, unused letters.
