Social media for children should be moderated by their parents, full stop. End-to-end encryption exists. You cannot un-invent it. It is trivial to roll your own encrypted chat service.

Every day on instagram I see people post pictures of text w/ words that are partially or fully obscured from view; presumably censoring themselves or others for the sake of the algorithm. Make a website, post what you like, be free.

I never said their (or your) points weren't valid. In fact, I think they are quite self-evident and well known. People are assuming in bad faith that I'm unaware of these facts or that I sought to mislead with my original comment.

People like to get worked up about this topic haha. All I'm sayin' is, it might get a lot hotter. Or maybe it will get cooler? I think it's important to put things in context because it's not some monotonically increasing function even if there is a local trend. I'm pro doing what we can to correct our impact on the environment; I'm even pro going beyond and attempting to control for other non-human externalities. My point is actually that nature doesn't care, but I think we should. Although, even if we try our hardest, we still might not like the outcome.

It's my understanding that if you look at a large enough historical time window, although warming has accelerated recently (and we are in part to blame); the Earth is still relatively cool compared to historical averages.

I wish people still knew how to compromise when it's in their best interest to do so. Heads up for those that live in a fantasy land: They are going to create both autonomous weapons and mass surveillance with AI. It's better to have a seat at the table than to cede to your biggest competitor (of even more questionable moral / ethical character).

In most cases, the model is non-deterministic and you have no direct control over the input parameters. At best you might get access to some abstraction of a subset of those parameters. I don't know of a coding model that offers direct access to the seed. I like to hear about how people are using agents, but it also feels a lot like someone sitting at a slot machine telling you that if you put your shoes on the opposite feet then you win more often.

So... can you explain why I wouldn't just use my own models and workflow? What does Glaze actually do? It looks like it has a private and public "store" where you can upload your apps? Can you explain to me how this is different than say, uploading my source / binaries to a server which is connected to the internet?

When I was a kid, my parents installed Net Nanny on our home computer. I installed a keylogger. No more Net Nanny; lots more EverQuest.

I don't like age verification in general, for anything. The age gates in our society are very subjective.

Many times my Dad would buy alcohol at the grocery store w/ me (underage) in tow, but they never asked for my ID or refused to sell to him. Now, when I go buy alcohol as an adult with my wife (we are both in our mid-late 30s) they ask to see her ID as well as mine? If she leaves her ID at home then she has to wait in the car because they will refuse the sale if she comes into the store and cannot prove her age.

Buying a case of beer with a group of 8 year olds? No problem. Bottle of wine for you and your wife? Let me get both IDs.
