I also care about my desktop supporting consumer electronics without having to waste an afternoon debugging Bluetooth drivers every two weeks

This won't fit everyone of course, but I've found that the Cursor / VScode extension of Claude is similar (though not perfect) to the desktop client. It's kind of like letting Microsoft deal with the Electron variability stuff in a way.

I wonder if they're trying to just kill Anthropic and OpenAI with this, ahah. I assume that Google really doesn't care if the coding model becomes fully overtaken by free models.

Government-controlled inspection wouldn't be solved by switching to older DLLs (unless the code itself is compromised, which is unlikely for video game code)

you can just tell them to do more dynamic testing. I think dynamic testing is partly frowned upon because it slows things down & can take down software where you wouldn't expect

I don't think we can assume that easily that it's perfectly normal to spy on allies, especially when one ally is the biggest military power in history, & their direct sole protector
